Bake Your Own Space Cakes

What is Space Cake?


A space cake is a type of cannabis edible in which the cannabinoids are absorbed by a fat and made into cake. Much like a normal edible, space cake is made in a similar fashion using cannabis butter, oil, or another form of fat.


It can be any cake, pastry, muffin or generically any baked good that is prepared using cannabis butter. Space cakes, like any other form of edible run the gamut of cannabinoid levels and other ingredients. Most consumers of space cakes experience body effects that can last for several hours.


Some individuals contend that true Space Cakes are made only with hash and not any other form of cannabis. Recipes abound online and in print with thousands of variations and potential ingredients. There are as many different types of possible Space Cakes as any other “traditional” baked good.


Our Favorite Space Cake Recipe:


Ingredients:

2 cups of flour

1 cup of cannabis infused butter

1 cup of granulated sugar

¾ cup of milk

2 eggs

2 teaspoons of baking powder

½ teaspoon of salt

2 teaspoons of cinnamon

2 cups of chocolate chips

½ cup of brown sugar


Equipment:

A mixing bowl

Spatula or mixing spoon

Cupcake oven tins(makes 2 dozen)

Non-stick spray or cupcake paper liners

An oven

A microwave

A small bowl

A skewer

Optional: A wire rack


Preheat your oven to 375F.

Put your cannabutter in a bowl and place it in the microwave for 20 seconds to soften it.

Add all of the dry ingredients, followed by the eggs and then the milk.

Mix everything together until you get a batter with a nice even consistency. This may take a few minutes, but it will ensure your cannabis is spread evenly as possible throughout the cake mix.

Note: If the mix is a little bit too dry, add a splash of extra milk; if it is too wet, add some extra flour.

Grease your cupcake tin with non-stick spray, or line it with cupcake paper liners.

Carefully spoon your cake batter into the cups.

Place cupcake tin in the oven and leave for 15-18 minutes to bake.

After 18 minutes, stab the center cakes with a skewer. If it comes out clean, it is ready, if batter sticks to it, leave the cakes in the oven for another 3 minutes.

Allow the cupcakes to cool for about 15 minutes in the tin; then place it upside down on the wire rack and remove the tin.

Once cooled, decorate the cupcakes however you like.
